In a move that is sure to please all true fans of great music, Universal Music Group has made moves to slash the prices of Cds and tapes alike. The new price point could be as low as $9.99. MxPx's BE&A should be one of the earliest Cd's to benefit from this - and we are very happy for that!
You can check out a story on the cuts here.
MxPx featured as the cover story in the September
fall preview issue of Alternative Press magazine!
"People don’t really know us, and maybe that’s a good thing." Yes! It’s true! Our favorite band will be the cover story of the October issue of AP magazine due out September 4th. The boys recently sat down to chat with Alternative Press Publisher and CEO Mike Shea, while on a short trip to New York to do a show at Randall’s Island. This is bound to be the most in depth piece ever written on MxPx! Expect to see some great photos, along with plenty of info on the new album Before Everything & After.
MxPx has been chosen by Director John Landis to cover a few songs for the upcoming 25th anniversary edition of National Lampoon’s ANIMAL HOUSE!
The guys will cover the Animal House “theme” song, and the well known party song “Shout”!
The band shot a video for “Shout” in mid June that will be included on the special anniversary DVD that is scheduled for release August 26th.
MxPx will also be playing the relaunch party for the Animal House DVD. The guys will be playing somewhere around 4 to 6 songs at the red carpet event August 21st.
Stay tuned for more info!
MxPx’s new song “Well Adjusted” from the soon to be released Before Everything And After album will be featured in a public service announcement. MxPx worked closely with the President’s Council on Drug Abuse and the Partnership for a Drug Free America. The PSA features 15 and 30 and 60 second spots that will air on radio and television beginning later this month.

A huge step was taken in the last few weeks when Tom and Chris Lord-Alge finished their mixes of the new mxpx record, "Before Everything & After." Here's a quote from Mike on the finished mixes...
"Everything sounds amazing and Tom can't stop bouncing off the walls about it.. he's giggling like a little girl!"
The record is now moving to the final stage of completion, Mastering, when George Marino at Sterling Sound in NYC adds the final touches before the record goes into manufacturing. George's credits include (digitally remastering) AC/DC's "Back in Black", (mastering) Social Distortion's "White Light, White Heat, White Trash," and The Cars self titled debut. Needles to say... George has been around and worked with a wide variety of artists!
In other news MxPx's leg of the Good Charlotte/ New Found Glory Tour officially kicked off with a bang! After a weeks worth of warmup shows which had a surprise visit from Stephan Egerton on guitar when MxPx bust into The Descendents classic "Silly Girl", the shows were right on target. What else would you expect!
A short quote from Yuri shows how he felt while he was out on the road .... " (it's been) a family reunion of sorts. A lot of people crewing for the tour have crewed for us at one time or another, so it is nice to see so many familliar faces. We have been having a lot of fun, so far the tour has been a blast."
